Zeus Ejuice Aphrodite's Affair Review

Zeus, Aphrodite’s Affair is a flavor creation made from cherry, cream, dark chocolate and strawberry, not a combo I’ve ever tried. In case the name isn’t enough of a clue, they’ve taken on an interesting marketing angle derived from Greek mythology. I love Greek mythology!

For the sake of transparency – S&Heaven provided me with a free 12ml sample bottle to review. I’m using the iClear 30s (2.1ohm coil head) on the iTaste MVP 2.0. If you read around forums and youtube there’s tons of glowing reviews. I’ve noticed that even those who aren’t crazy about them seem to, at the very least, find them pleasant but just not to their taste. This is always a positive sign you are dealing with quality flavor ingredients.

Flavor and Taste

I’ll start with the cherry because it seems be such a tough flavor for juice companies to get right. It’s excellent in terms of taste authenticity, no question about it and I share the same opinion on the chocolate and strawberry. The fruit and chocolate combo is a bit of everything each time you vape. It’s an unctuous juice with sweet and natural fruit syrup tones. It’s a bit of everything to be honest, at times sweet, rich and tart on each draw you can pick out different flavors. The chocolate isn’t of the gourmet hand crafted Belgian caliber, but it remains one of the more accurate chocolate flavors I’ve vaped (not big on chocolate flavors for this very reason!). It’s more like an authentic and tasty cheap candy chocolate. It tastes way better than the chocolate notes from some Mom and Pop juices such as Pchella’s range imho.

I tried it both steeped and straight out of the bottle. With the former the chocolate blends in more and you can’t really get the cream and chocolate notes. After a week of steeping the cream and chocolate seems to come to life as more of a milk chocolate, it remains subtle and really nicely balanced with the fruity syrupy tones. It tastes great steeped or straight out of the bottle, steeping is optional with this juice but I do advise being patient for the best vaping experience.

It’s not an all day vape for me and here’s why. As great as it tastes for a few toots I just don’t  like it after prolonged vaping, I get a bit sick of it and I need a break. As on occasional treat with a coffee, I absolutely love it. For other folks it’s a staple all day vape but it’s a little too sweet and rich for it to meet my ADV requirements.

Throat Hit

Overall it’s a relatively smooth vape but at the same time it certainly pinches the throat which I found quite surprising considering it’s a 60/40 base mix @ 12mg. If you want a super smooth vape you’ll have to vape at lower voltage and wattage settings. It’s a juice that should have a broad appeal in this department.

Vapor Production

As you would expect with the high VG vapor production is good, you get full bodied clouds of vapor that leave a haze that has an exquisite scent. It’s like walking into a gourmet candy shop when you re-enter a room that’s been left in a haze. Truly delightful though not a juice I would recommend for discrete vaping.

Device Longevity

This sort of ties in with vapor production, on a new coil head vapor production is good but bit by bit performance levels diminish quite rapidly. This is because the juice quickly leaves a thick layer of gunk caked on your coils. Taste remained somewhat consistent but it’s harder for coils to produce consistently good volumes of vapor once they’re caked with gunk. It’s dark, sweet and unctuous. When you turn a tank upside down with a small drop in it, the juice almost appears as though it’s in a zero gravity compartment the way it reacts. After 8ml my coil was more or less spent, another reason why I’m not so keen on it as an all-day vape.

Conclusion

I think it just about lives up to its hype as a great tasting vape, though I don’t agree with all the folks who reckon it’s a perfect ADV. It’s a little too much after a while and it’s not terribly kind on coils. It remains for me an exquisite occasional desert vape with natural fruit syrup and chocolate tones. If you’ve been searching for that perfect cherry, strawberry or chocolate flavor, I strongly recommend investigating it, I honestly can’t see anyone being totally disappointed. Though I like it, for me it remains more of a novelty desert vape and to be honest I don’t think I’ll be going back for more despite the fact that I finished off the bottle.
