For the review I’m using the iClear 30s with the MVP 2.0. This is another juice provided free of charge by S&Heaven. These juices are created in China by Hangsen, using flavoring ingredients sourced in the US. It’s no wonder the cola is so tasty and I was hoping for much of the same with the mocha. I’ve also discovered through some googling that these are in fact 70/30 PG VG.
Flavor and Taste
For me a good cup of coffee is served fresh in a small cup and it has to be strong and black with no sugar. I don’t really drink mocha, latte and what have you but like most things with coffee in them, I do tend to like em.
From the bottle it smells like a deep rich roast coffee with a sweet and creamy twist, I suspect there could be hints of chocolate and vanilla lurking. All sounds good right? I thought the same though I was a little taken back by how pungent the scent is.
Have you ever tried a coffee ice-cream dotted with sugar coated rich roast coffee beans? If you haven’t and you like coffee, try it because it’s mighty tasty. In many ways this juice is a lot like it for the first few draws, it’s a rich sweet and creamy coffee flavor. The more you vape and the hotter the coil gets, the more the taste moves from sweet and creamy to coarse and acidic coffee beans. So much so that it reminds me of the blueberry muffin scene in the movie Casino…
In this case it’s like getting a mouthful of coffee ice-cream only one that’s got an uneven distribution of those sugar coated beans. In small doses they taste fantastic, but get a mouthful of them and they quickly turn a sweet desert quite sour. It’s the pitfall of the desert and unfortunately much the same for this juice imho. Once I realised that acidic and harsh coffee taste was there to stay, all the hopes I had that it’d be as fine as the cola, rapidly dissipated like a plume of pg vapor.
I couldn’t vape more than 5ml. I wish I could put this down to a lack of steeping but I initially left it sitting with the cap on in a warm dark place for just over a week. Unfortunately I don’t think any amount of steeping would sort it out and weeks later it’s still as pungent as ever. I tried it again after 2 mroe weeks of steeping but it suffered from the same problem. This one gets a thumbs down unfortunately.
It’s almost identical to their cola so you can read my thoughts on it here. Strong and harsh throat hit.
Same as above, you can refer to the previous Stars and Stripes review as they’re both on par. You get decent vapor production.
Unfortunately I can’t comment on this, it’s a little darker than the cola so I don’t think it will be quite as forgiving on coils but I couldn’t vape any more than 5ml so I just don’t know (FYI picture above was lazily snagged from the cola review, the mocha is more like a deep amber color).
It’s safe to say, I won’t be buying any of this juice having tried it. However, as much as I love drinking coffee I haven’t really tried any coffee juices that I’d consider great, so it could just be a case of personal preference, as always if you’re interested in sampling it I strongly advise ordering a sample bottle before stocking up on larger quantities.
I’m really disappointed because from the bottle I was hopeful about it but it just didn’t live up to my expectations. Maybe it’s just a case that I’d rather drink coffee than vape coffee flavors but there’s no escaping the fact that it’s harsh and acidic after prolonged vaping. At first it’s rich, mild and creamy, but intensity levels just keep growing as you keep vaping. Maybe you’ll disagree with me if you regularly vape coffee flavors, as I don’t I can only give my opinion on this particular juice but it’s a thumbs down for me. I tried it on the 30 too thinking maybe the muted taste it provides would change my mind, but it’s the exact same problem, it’s just too much for my liking.
