4 E-Liquid Exaggerations that Smokers Usually Believe

Being a smoker who is trying to get rid of the smoking addiction is one of the toughest things to do in this world. When you are in this position, you want to do the right thing and give up on your cigarettes, but your journey to quitting this harmful habit is cut short every time you seek an alternative that is meant to please you on the same level. Even though vaping and smoking have very few similarities between them, e-cigarettes can be deemed as the ideal alternative to cigarettes. According to research, vaping e-liquids is 95% safer than smoking tobacco. This should be a good enough reason for people to consider switching over to e-cigarettes and dumping their cigarettes once and for all. However, many people struggle to make the transition partly because of all the negative press about vaping and e-cigarettes.

The number of e-cigarette critics is nearly as high as the number of e-cigarette enthusiasts in the world today. In other words, for every person who is informing you about the benefits of vaping e-liquids, there is another person who is spreading lies and exaggerations about e-liquids in an attempt to misguide and mislead potential consumers of this product. There are many reasons for which people vilify e-liquids, but none of them have anything to do with legitimate health concerns that can be proved in a scientific laboratory. It is a widely established fact that smoking kills. On the contrary, there is no evidence to suggest that the ingredients in e-liquids have the potential to cause severe health complications, let alone lung cancer and death.

The controversy surrounding the e-liquid industry has been around for a while now. By our estimates, it is not going to go away anytime soon as critics constantly come up with new “studies” and “tests” to prove how awful vaping is. If you want to avoid being misguided by such detractors, then we suggest you give the following list of four commonly spread exaggerations a good read:

1) E-Liquids Are a Fire Hazard

This is one of the most ridiculous accusations that have ever been made about e-cigarettes and e-liquids. The accusation or exaggeration stems from the fact that e-cigarettes contain a component that serves as a heating element. However, what the critics conveniently forget to mention is that the heating element is not an open source of fire or an open flame. This means that there is no combustion process like the one that takes place in the conventional cigarette. People who use cigarettes are much more likely to start a fire by using the product in a careless manner. On the flipside, it would take quite a bit of work for someone to use an e-cigarette to create engulfing flames in an indoor or an outdoor environment. So, the next time someone talks to you about this fire hazard ‘embellishment’, politely listen to what they have to say and once they are done talking, remind them how cigarettes are a much bigger threat than e-cigarettes in this case. It is also worth mentioning that high quality e-cigarettes manufactured by reliable brands can hardly ever be a fire hazard.

2) E-Liquids Contain Anti-freeze

This is another one of the bizarre exaggerations about e-liquids that float around among the critics and naysayers of vaping. A reputable and dependable e-liquid manufacturer would never put anti-freeze in any one of their products. The critics try to deceive people by stating that e-liquids contain glycol which is present in anti-freeze. Once again, they are conveniently leaving out necessary information. Anti-free contains ethylene glycol, which is a completely different chemical substance from the propylene glycol that is used in e-liquids. Seems like the critics can’t even get their glycols right.

3) Vaping Is More Addictive than Smoking

The critics believe that vaping is more addictive than smoking because of the high concentration of nicotine that is present in e-liquids. First and foremost, you should know that the concentration of nicotine in e-liquids is actually variable. You can purchase low nicotine concentration e-liquids if you wanted to lower your intake of this addictive chemical substance. You can even buy zero nicotine e-liquids if you are completely against the idea of being reliant on nicotine. This is certainly not an option with cigarettes, where the presence of nicotine is a given. The only reason why vaping may be more addictive is because it provides more pleasure in terms of enjoying the flavours. It rarely has anything to do with the nicotine concentration.

4) E-Liquid Vapour is the Same as Tobacco Smoke

E-liquid vapour and tobacco smoke could not be any different. It is funny to see that the critics do not even realize the difference between smoke and vapour. Cigarette smoke contains carcinogens that are released into the air. On the other hand, vapour from an e-liquid is a cloudlike fog which is basically nothing more than odourless water vapour.
