If you’re new to vaping or considering making a change to your setup, the many options available may still be a bit confusing. Chances are you’ve heard about drip tips, but you may not have had any experience with them or are possibly unsure what they’re all about.
Drip tips are used for what’s known as “dripping,” which involves pouring your eliquid directly on the atomizer instead of using a cartridge, cartomizer, or clearomizer. Many vapers believe they get more flavor from their eliquids by dripping. As dripping can be relatively time consuming because it involves dripping the juice on to the atomizer on a very regular basis to keep the wick moist, most of the vapers that participate in the activity tend to be relatively experienced. However, even newbies can easily become drippers with just a little bit of guidance.
Simply put, a drip tip is a small mouth piece that screws right on to the atomizer. The vaper then drips their favorite ejuice into the drip tip. Using a drip tip allows you to eliminate the need for a cartridge all together.
Just like other vaporizer parts, drip tips come in a wide variety of sizes, colors, and shapes. This allows every vaper to have a truly personalized vaping experience. Drip tips are also made out of many different kinds of materials including, plastic, stainless steel, ceramic, and aluminum. Both the length and the material that makes up your drip tip typically have a direct affect on the temperature of the vapor which is produced. For example, long plastic tips and steel tips both tend to produce vapor with a cooler temperature.
Because eliquid isn’t being held in a cartridge, dripping can get a little sloppy. This is why something called a drip shield is often used to collect eliquid run off. By using techniques like this, and with just a bit of practice and patience, you can enjoy dripping just as much as more experienced vapers.
