S&Heaven sent me out some Doctor Stanley Clark’s original recipe Snake Oil to review. This is the original Snake Oil that is produced by Tmax. The 30 ml size comes in a glass bottle with glass dripper, all the relevant warnings and also a batch number. It is a 60VG/40PG mix which is, as far as I know, the only mix that Snake Oil comes in. Like most juices I vape these days, it is 6mg strength.
The liquid itself is orange/golden in colour and is quite thick. I decided to try it out in an IGO-W dripper, 1.9 ohm micro coil and a cotton wick, vaping at 3.4 volts on an iStick. I’m not sure how this would work in a tank setup, as the liquid as I mentioned is quite viscous. This juice is known to ghost and crack plastic tanks so if you decide to go out and buy it, make sure you have a pyrex tank to vape it in. A variety of flavors have the ability to crack plastic tanks, anise, aniseed and citrus happen to be among them. Some of which are found in this juice.
Flavor and Taste
The first thing that you smell as you take a whiff from the bottle is citrus and aniseed. From the aroma, it is more citrus than aniseed. Loading it on to the dripper, the aroma tells me that it’s certainly going to be something special.
On the inhale you can feel your pallet being cleansed. Very refreshing indeed. On the exhale the citrus notes of orange and lemon hits you followed by a warming aniseed taste. At slightly higher volts, the aniseed becomes the predominant flavor whilst the citrus lingers in the background.
Let me just say that I can’t get enough of this juice. It is difficult to put down and could most certainly be an all day vape for me. It is difficult to describe as it really does need to be tried. Interestingly, I’ve read a lot of posts on forums about folk who don’t normally like aniseed flavors, but somehow they still find Snake Oil is a very appealing flavor. It’s a widely appreciated vape by vapers with a penchant for a varying array of flavors.
There is a very pleasant throat hit off the 6ml strength liquid. As the vapour fills your mouth, the aniseed tingles your taste buds. The inhale is very smooth but there is a wonderful kick off this juice. Not too strong. This stuff could easily be chain vaped.
The vapor is like a steam train thanks to the 60PG/40PG mix. It produces masses amount of vapour. There is little to no smell lingering in the air. It’s a little hazardous to vape this juice and drive during the Winter, for two reasons. The first being it will fog up your car in no time giving you reduced visibility. The second issue is you’ll no doubt distract your fellow motorists on the road who will think you’ve got a serious mechanical fault.
Having gone through about 10 mls in the last couple of days in my IGO-W dripper, the micro coil is very clean. Changing out the wick is very straight forward and there was little or no need to dry burn. I’d estimate you’d easily get through a bottle of this stuff without having to change your coil. So thumbs up for that.
Snake Oil is a very unique and super tasty. If you like aniseed, you will love this. If you’re not too keen on aniseed, than I would recommend giving it a try anyway. I will definitely be ordering some more of this stuff in the future. It’s not cheap, but it’s also not outrageously over priced. It’s a juice that represents the epitome of the phrase – you get what you pay for.
